Nizhny Novgorod residents won five medals at the All-Russian ski jumping competitions.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, the first and second stages of the Russian Cup in ski jumping on artificial surfaces took place at the NOSSOR complex named after G.Yu. Napalkov. The competitions featured 80 top athletes from seven regions of Russia.

      As a result of the first stage of the Russian Cup, the "gold" was won by Nizhny Novgorod athlete Roman Trofimov, while the "silver" went to our compatriot Sofia Ermak.

      At the finish of the second stage of the Russian Cup, Roman Trofimov again took first place, with third place going to Nizhny Novgorod athlete Mikhail Nazarov. In the women's category, Sofia Ermak won the "bronze."

      In addition, Roman Trofimov became the holder of the "Best Athlete" Cup, and Kirill Kotik received a special prize for the longest jump.

      "Our school of 'flying skiers' is one of the strongest in the country. I thank the Federation of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined of Russia for holding competitions of such a high level on Nizhny Novgorod soil for the second year in a row. For many participants, these starts became an important stage in preparation for the summer season and an opportunity to test their strength against the strongest opponents. Our athletes represented the region well and won five awards in total. I congratulate the guys and their coaches," emphasized the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabailo.

      The organizers of the competitions are the Federation of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined of Russia, the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the Nizhny Novgorod Federation for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping, along with the project office of the ANO "Center for Management and Development of Sports in the Nizhny Novgorod Region."
