A series of thefts from a vending machine was uncovered in Arzamas.

      On July 7, 2026, at 10:06, Incidents: Police officers established the involvement of two local residents in another episode of theft as part of the investigation into a criminal case regarding the theft of goods from a store on Lenin Avenue in Arzamas. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      In mid-June, the criminals, acting in collusion, stole items from a prize machine located at the entrance to the sales area of one of the stores. The total amount of damage caused was 12,000 rubles.

      A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanctions of the article include imprisonment.

      The police established that two previously unconvicted residents of Arzamas, aged 30 and 31, were involved in the commission of the crime. A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior has been chosen for the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
