The state debt of the Nizhny Novgorod region decreased by 3% to 209.9 billion rubles.

      July 6, 2026 13:25 Economy The volume of the state debt of the Nizhny Novgorod region as of July 1, 2026, amounted to 209.94 billion rubles. According to data from the regional Ministry of Finance, compared to the beginning of the year, the debt burden has decreased. As of January 1, 2026, the figure reached 216.47 billion rubles. Thus, over six months, it decreased by 6.53 billion rubles, or approximately 3%. The largest share in the structure of liabilities is occupied by federal budget loans - 118.51 billion rubles, or 56.4% of the total volume. Since the beginning of the year, their amount has decreased by 11.44 billion rubles. The debt on loans from commercial banks as of July 1 amounted to 64.5 billion rubles. This is 30.7% of the total debt amount. Compared to January 1, the figure has increased by 8.9 billion rubles. The volume of government securities, on the contrary, decreased from 29.5 billion to 25.5 billion rubles. The decrease amounted to 4 billion rubles. Their share in the debt structure is 12.2%. State guarantees occupy the smallest part of the liabilities - 1.43 billion rubles, or 0.7%. Since the beginning of the year, their volume has increased by 13.9 million rubles. According to the consolidated report, in the first half of the year, the region attracted 64.22 billion rubles in borrowed funds and repaid 70.75 billion rubles. This allowed to reduce the total volume of state internal debt to 209.94 billion rubles. According to the regional Ministry of Finance's forecast, by January 1, 2027, the size of the state debt may reach 230.55 billion rubles.
