Rescuers are evacuating passengers from the stopped cable car Nizhny Novgorod - Bor.

      On July 5, 2026, at 18:12 Society Due to worsening weather conditions and strong winds, the movement on the cable car connecting Nizhny Novgorod and Bor has been suspended. Several cabins that were in the air are hanging over the river. In the photographs shared by eyewitnesses on social networks, it can be seen how several cabins collided and are hanging over the river. According to operational data, emergency services are currently working at the scene to evacuate the stranded passengers. Preliminary information indicates that there were 11 people in the cabins. Updated: According to data from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Nizhny Novgorod region, preliminarily 16 people, including 4 children, were in the stranded cabins. Their health is not in danger. The evacuation of people is being carried out by rescuers from the Volga Regional Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
