The Ministry of Transport commented on the situation with the suspension of the Nizhny Novgorod cable car.

      On July 5, 2026, at 19:14 Society On July 5, due to worsening weather conditions and strong winds, the movement on the cable car connecting Nizhny Novgorod and Bor was suspended. Several cabins that were in the air hung over the river. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Highways of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," the unscheduled stop occurred at support number 6 of the cable car. At that time, passenger boarding was halted, and 16 passengers were only in two cabins that had stopped closer to the Sennaya station.

      "In accordance with the protocol, emergency services were called to evacuate citizens. There are no passengers in the cabins at support 6. After the evacuation of people, the cause of the emergency situation will be established," the agency clarified.
