The wake park on Lake Meshcherskoye has submitted documents to the Ministry of Ecology.
On July 6, 2026, at 10:29 AM, Society Wake Park on Lake Meshcherskoye in Nizhny Novgorod submitted a new package of documents to the regional Ministry of Ecology. This was reported by the director of the active recreation park, Anton Mikhailov, to IA "NTA-Volga."
According to him, the conflict over the lease of the water area has been ongoing since 2023. He named the company "Ladya 52" from Yoshkar-Ola as the initiator of the legal disputes, which challenged the legality of the concluded water use agreement, pointing out violations by the ministry.
The court recognized the agreement as invalid. During the proceedings, a freeze was in place on signing new water use agreements. After it was lifted in early July, the park resubmitted documents to the Ministry of Ecology. They are currently under review.
Anton Mikhailov also emphasized that the project was coordinated for about a year and a half, underwent environmental assessments, and received approvals from relevant agencies, including fish protection. The director stressed that no official directives from the prosecutor's office had been received by the organization—requests were sent to the ministry.
Recall that recently the environmental prosecutor's office reported violations at Lake Meshcherskoye: the nature monument of regional significance is overgrown with aquatic and shrub vegetation, the shoreline is cluttered with waste, and the wake park lacks a valid permit for using the water area. The company notes that it cannot independently remove coastal vegetation due to the protective status of the territory.
The wake park opened in 2022, with investments exceeding 100 million rubles. The site often hosts sporting events, including a festival of adaptive wakeboarding for people with spinal injuries.
Earlier, we reported that swimming in Lake Meshcherskoye is prohibited this year due to non-compliance with SanPiN standards. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
