The prosecutor's office has started an investigation following the collision of three riverboats near Gorodets.

      On July 6, 2026, at 11:54, Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod Transport Prosecutor's Office has organized an inspection regarding the collision of vessels at anchor near Gorodets. As reported by the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred on the afternoon of July 5 on the Volga River. The riverboat "Midvolga-2" collided with the riverboats "Baltflot-2" and "Baltflot-6" while anchoring near Gorodets. As a result of the incident, the vessels sustained dents in their hulls. There are no injuries. There is also no oil spill. The transport prosecutor's office is now investigating all circumstances and reasons for what happened. If there are grounds for this, appropriate response measures will be taken. It was previously reported that the riverboat "Nalchik," which was carrying wheat, ran aground near Gorodets.
