In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the sale of gasoline using QR codes will be tested.

      On July 6, 2026, at 18:43, Economy In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a pilot area will be determined where the mechanism for dispensing gasoline via QR codes will be tested. This was reported by Governor Gleb Nikitin in his MAX channel following the operational headquarters meeting regarding the fuel situation in the region. The meeting was attended by the regional government, leadership of key fuel and energy companies, supervisory and law enforcement agencies. According to the regional head, the new system should ensure a more equitable distribution of fuel in conditions of scarcity and guarantee each motorist the ability to refuel a certain volume of gasoline within a specified time at a particular gas station. After the mechanism is tested, authorities may extend it to the entire Nizhny Novgorod region if necessary.
