A child and six men drowned in the Nizhny Novgorod region over the week.

      On July 6, 2026, at 11:34, Incidents: Seven incidents on the water were recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region from June 29 to July 5. Six of them ended in tragedy. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      In particular, on July 1, a 68-year-old man drowned in the Sanakhta River in Chkalovsk. On the 2nd, the body of a minor child was retrieved from the water in the village of Ivonkino in the Bor district.

      Additionally, on July 4, the body of a 45-year-old man was raised from the waters of the Oka in the Pavlovsky district, and in the Gorky Reservoir near the village of Rameshki in the Sokolsky district, the corpse of a 70-year-old pensioner was found. On the same day, divers discovered the body of a 61-year-old man in the Bor area in the village of Nechaev, and in the waters of the Volga in Balakhna, a 53-year-old deceased was found.

      Another accident occurred in the Kanavinsky district on July 5. An unknown man drowned in Lake Bolnichnoye, which is located on the Moscow Highway. His identity is currently being established.

      Earlier, we reported that on July 1, in Sortirovochnoye Lake in the Kanavinsky district, rescue sailors pulled a 39-year-old man from the water. He refused hospitalization.
