Traffic on the western bypass of Arzamas is open according to a temporary scheme.

      The working movement of road transport has been opened on part of the new facility - the road "Vyyezdnoye - Arzamas-1 railway station". The project is being implemented as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" within the framework of activities to develop the pilgrimage and tourist cluster "Arzamas - Diveyevo - Sarov," reported the Main Department of Automobile Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. At this stage, a section of 4.6 km has been opened - from the roundabout near the working settlement of Vyyezdnoye (on the Vladimir - Murom - Arzamas highway) to the road to Arzamas-1 - Maryevka - Kovaksa - Pyavochnoe. Now drivers can travel along the new route without entering the city.

      Please note that the movement is organized according to a temporary scheme. Currently, there are temporary speed limits of 40 km/h on the opened section. Drivers need to be attentive and strictly follow the instructions of road signs.

      The total length of the new road is 5.183 km. Of these, 2.798 km runs outside populated areas (III category road, two lanes 3.5 m wide, shoulders 2.5 m wide, calculated speed - up to 100 km/h) and 2.385 km - within the city limits (main street of district significance, two lanes, sidewalks 2-2.25 m wide, calculated speed - up to 50 km/h).

      Work on the facility continues. Plans include the completion of the construction of a tunnel-type overpass under the embankment of the railway and a section of the highway with a length of 583 meters leading to the intersection of Vederikova and Stantsionnaya streets.

      "The new road is a crucial element in the development of the pilgrimage and tourist cluster 'Arzamas - Diveyevo - Sarov.' Thousands of pilgrims and tourists heading to the Diveyevo Monastery and Sarov will be able to bypass Arzamas, avoiding traffic jams and saving time. Moreover, the road will relieve the city streets of transit traffic, reduce the load on Arzamas' road network, and enhance traffic safety. For local residents, this is also a significant support - both commuting to work and dacha routes will become easier and faster. The new road, along with the overpass near the settlement of Vyyezdnoye, will alleviate the transport load on the streets of Arzamas," noted acting director of the State Institution of Nizhny Novgorod Region "GUAD" Alexander Denisov.

      "The opening of each new section of the road is an investment in the future of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, in improving the quality of life. Work on the facility is still ongoing, but residents and guests of our region can already use the new convenient route. A lot of effort and resources are being invested in the development of the 'Arzamas - Diveyevo - Sarov' cluster, and improving the road situation will positively reflect on the tourist potential of these areas. Many proposals from Nizhny Novgorod residents in the people's program of 'United Russia' concern road development. Therefore, we must continue to seek funding and support for our infrastructure projects at the federal level so that the residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region feel real improvements," said the director of the Center for Strategic Development of the Region Evgeny Kostin.

      Let us remind you that since 2019, thanks to the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (until 2025 - "Safe and Quality Roads"), more than 6.6 thousand km of roads have been repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and about 140 km of regional roads have been built and reconstructed. Only in 2025, 761 km of the road network will be brought to standard against a plan of 626 km.

      The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to provide citizens with modern infrastructure. The national project consists of 12 federal projects, which are partly a continuation of previously existing national projects "Safe Quality Roads," "Housing and Urban Environment," and state programs of the Russian Federation. They are aimed, among other things, at the development of road construction, housing and communal services, ensuring road safety, and developing public passenger transport.
