Two more rabies outbreaks have been identified in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On July 2, 2026, at 10:22 AM, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a quarantine for rabies has been established in two areas - in the city of Pervomaisk and in the village of Novaya Sloboda in the Bolshie Boldino district. The corresponding decrees of the governor were signed based on the recommendations of the regional veterinary committee. In Pervomaisk, the problematic area is recognized as the section bounded by the streets Volodarskogo, 50 Years of October, Lesnoy, Kommunisticheskaya, and Lesnoy Lane. The quarantine has been in effect in this area since June 23. The epizootic focus has been identified as the personal subsidiary farm of a local resident. In the village of Novaya Sloboda, the quarantine has been established since June 25 for the entire territory of the settlement. The focus of rabies has also been recognized as the personal subsidiary farm of a local resident. During the quarantine period, restrictions are imposed. In the epizootic focus, the treatment of sick animals, visits by outsiders, the import and export of animals (except for those vaccinated 179 days before export, including for slaughter), their movement, and regrouping are prohibited. In the problematic areas, mass events with animals are prohibited, their export is limited (except for slaughter and vaccinated animals), as well as the capture of wild animals for zoos.
