Nizhny Novgorod residents contracted salmonellosis after breakfast at a cafe on Alekseevskaya.

      On July 2, 2026, at 10:06 AM, Society Several people were admitted to the infectious diseases hospital with salmonellosis after breakfast at a popular café in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The victims visited a well-known establishment on Alekseevskaya Street, where they decided to try the "Captain's Breakfast" - a dish with sausages, eggs, and ham. Soon after eating, their condition sharply deteriorated, experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, and even loss of consciousness. The residents of Nizhny Novgorod had to be sent to the infectious diseases hospital for treatment, where they were diagnosed with salmonellosis. After the incident, the eatery allegedly closed for repairs. The café owner denied the claims in comments to the press. It is known that this is not the first case of mass illness among the establishment's visitors. In particular, one of the victims reported that two years ago he ended up in the hospital with similar symptoms and spent 21 days there, losing more than 12 kilograms in weight.
