The Semenov enterprise was ordered to pay more than 1.5 million rubles for damage to the river.
On July 2, 2026, at 15:03, incidents occurred. The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region ordered the Municipal Enterprise "Ilyino-Zaborskoe Housing and Utilities" (now Municipal Enterprise "Gorvodokanal") to pay compensation for the damage caused to the Belbazh River. This was reported by the Interregional Office of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia.
Earlier, during inspections of the wastewater treatment facilities modernized under the federal project "Health Improvement of the Volga," specialists repeatedly recorded violations of environmental legislation. As a result of the inspections, the enterprise was held administratively liable.
In 2024, when analyzing wastewater samples, exceedances of iron, manganese, copper, petroleum products, and other pollutants were found. A repeated inspection in 2025 showed similar violations. Additionally, it was established that the discharges negatively affect the condition of the Belbazh River.
After this, Rosprirodnadzor specialists calculated the amount of damage caused. The sum amounted to over 1.5 million rubles. The enterprise was sent a claim with a proposal to voluntarily compensate for the damage; however, it refused to do so.
After reviewing the case materials, the court recognized the supervisory authority's claims as justified and ordered the Municipal Enterprise "Ilyino-Zaborskoe Housing and Utilities" to pay the full amount of damages.
It was previously reported that the court recovered over one and a half million rubles from Municipal Enterprise "Raduga" for damage to the Umotch River.
