VTB presented the main directions of the bank's strategy for 2027-2029.

This was announced by VTB head Andrey Kostin at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. The first direction is the development of retail business in partnership with RWB. "Next year we are launching a large-scale retail agenda - a catalyst for scaling partnerships with the largest companies in the country. The retail market is one of the largest segments of the Russian economy, and marketplaces are its largest and most dynamic segment, growing by more than 30% per year over the past five years. The change in consumer habits towards the online economy is accompanied by the growth of platform penetration in the retail market. Analysts expect that by 2027, more than 30% of all purchases by citizens will be made online," said Andrey Kostin. According to him, a significant impetus for the development of cooperation is the strategic partnership with Wildberries. "We see great value in the partnership for VTB in many areas, as well as significant potential for implementing joint synergies. The partnership can provide a substantial impetus for the development of the bank's retail business and further strengthen our positions in small and medium-sized businesses, as well as in corporate and investment business," noted the president - chairman of the board. The second direction is international settlements, which have become an element of the economic, technological, and infrastructural integration of countries. "VTB traditionally leads in the foreign trade market, and our ambition is to ensure up to a quarter of all foreign trade settlements in the country," noted Andrey Kostin. The third direction is supporting the government in economic development, accompanying structural transformations, and a new investment cycle in the economy. "We play an active role in the development of strategic industries and the implementation of significant infrastructure projects. In the new strategic cycle, we will continue this work in full," Kostin reported. The fourth is the active development of technologies. "In the new strategy, we are laying down a program for the active implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence and the corresponding effects in terms of productivity growth and a radical improvement in the quality of customer service," indicated the head of VTB. Strengthening the bank's position will contribute to a successful dividend story. "We expect that during the new strategic period - 2027-2029 - we will reach a level of dividend payments of 50% of net profit, which will also contribute to the growth of the attractiveness of VTB shares," noted Andrey Kostin.
