      On June 30, 2026, at 09:47, Incidents: Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on possible procedural violations in the criminal case concerning the murder of the son of a former Nizhny Novgorod deputy. This was reported by the information center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

      The reason was a news segment titled "By the Way" (16+). It mentioned that the second suspect in the murder case had evaded justice. The accused in this particularly serious crime was under a travel ban and did not attend the latest court hearing. Previously, another suspect in the same case also disappeared and is currently wanted internationally.

      Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the Investigative Department for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexander Dynkov, to provide a detailed report on the progress of the investigation, the procedural decisions made, and their grounds, as well as to verify the claims made in the news segment.

      Recall that the murder occurred in December 2024 in Shakhunya. Members of a gang attacked the Saidov brothers with knives in a local café. Ali Saidov died on the spot, while his brother Ruslan survived. The suspects were not apprehended for a long time, and the murder weapons were found by relatives in snowdrifts and handed over to the police.

      The father of the deceased, former municipal deputy Minkail Saidov, fought for justice for a year and a half. In March 2026, during the trial for his son's murder, Saidov was shot in his own home. His daughter-in-law linked this crime to Ali's death.

      After the former deputy's death, Alexander Bastrykin took control of the case. Three suspects were detained on suspicion of murdering Minkail Saidov.
