A 17-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod was detained after publications calling for terrorism.

      On June 30, 2026, at 13:05, Incidents In the Nizhny Novgorod region, law enforcement agencies have suppressed the fact of public calls for illegal activities. Employees of the Center for Counteracting Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, together with the FSB, established that a 17-year-old resident of the Sosnovsky district posted 10 images on the Internet. The materials contained public calls for terrorist activities, as well as justification and propaganda of terrorism. It was established that the publications were posted in open access on one of the channels in a messenger available to an unlimited number of users. A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, a protocol on an administrative offense has been drawn up against the teenager under part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. Currently, operational search activities are ongoing to identify possible accomplices and other episodes of illegal activities.
