The last participant of the Great Patriotic War from the Lenin District of Nizhny Novgorod has passed away.
On June 29, 2026, at 5:00 PM, Society The last participant of the Great Patriotic War, residing in the Lenin district, Yefimiya Petrovna Repetilova, passed away at the age of 105. The sad news was reported on social media by the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev.
Yefimiya Petrovna was born in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 1921. At the age of 20, she went to the front and served as a medical worker in the artillery troops. During combat operations, the young woman carried the wounded from the battlefield on her shoulders. She spent all the war years on the front lines and celebrated Victory Day in Germany.
After the war, Yefimiya Repetilova returned to Nizhny Novgorod, where she worked for almost 40 years at one of the local factories.
The realization that a generation of heroes, true patriots, who put their homeland above all else in both wartime and peacetime, is leaving us, tugs at the heart.
