The authorities checked the fuel situation at 33 gas stations in Nizhny Novgorod.

June 29, 2026 17:30 Society The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region have intensified monitoring of the fuel situation. Specialists from the regional Ministry of Housing and Utilities, led by Minister Mikhail Kurenkov, have been conducting raids on gas stations in the regional center for the past three days. This was reported on social media by Governor Gleb Nikitin.

The evening before, representatives of the department traveled along the main highways of Nizhny Novgorod — Rodionova, Brinskogo, Vaneeva, Gagarina, Larina, Kuzbasskaya, Ryabtseva, Burnakovskaya, Moskovskoye, and Komsomolskoye highways, as well as Heroes Avenue. A total of 33 gas stations were checked, including 28 network stations and five independent ones.

According to monitoring data, queues of two to eight cars were observed at each pump. At independent gas stations, fuel was either unavailable or sold at prices 15-40% higher than those of network operators. Meanwhile, demand at such stations was minimal.

Five network gas stations were temporarily closed: four were on a technological break, and one was unloading a fuel truck. Queues were recorded at several stations. The regional head attributes this to increased demand, weekends, and high traffic in their locations.

According to regional authorities, inflated prices are mainly found at private gas stations, in small networks, and with franchising operators. The price of fuel remains stable at federal networks.

Currently, the region is supplied with fuel, and we are in constant contact with federal colleagues; the situation is under control, emphasized Gleb Nikitin.

Earlier, we reported on whether public transport fares would increase due to fuel shortages in the Nizhny Novgorod region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
