"Rostelecom" has connected more than 700 households in Nizhny Novgorod to fiber optics.

      On June 29, 2026, at 14:22, the company "Rostelecom" completed another stage of the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region, providing access to modern optical communication channels for 739 households. In May and June, the company's specialists built new sections of the optical network in 14 settlements in the region. Residents of the villages of Istomino, Pod'yablonnoe, Zaozerye, Maly Sukhodol, Korobovo, Falino-Pestovo, and Mostovka, as well as the villages of Korobkovo and Maloe Murashkino, the towns of Golyshevo and Reshetikha, and also Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, and Volodarsk received the opportunity to connect to high-speed internet and the provider's digital services.

      In the private sector, the company's specialists built gigabit networks and laid personal optical cables in the homes of subscribers. In cities, the optical connection was brought to apartment buildings, after which the signal was distributed via copper lines to the apartments. Both technologies provide a stable connection and reliable operation of digital services.

      Evgeny Petrov, Vice President and Director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of PJSC "Rostelecom":

      "The development of the optical network this summer season was focused on areas with high demand for high-speed internet and minimal payback periods for construction costs. A key criterion for selecting settlements was collective appeals from citizens. Thanks to the active position of residents, a number of villages and hamlets were included in the work plan, including those based on so-called hot requests."

      Pavel Skorodumov, a resident of Korobkovo:

      "Two years ago, my wife and I bought a house in Korobkovo for a summer residence. This is a special place for us: our youth was spent here. While we were renovating and improving the site, we realized that we couldn't do without the internet in the village. Many everyday issues—from ordering goods to paying for services—are solved online. I talked to my neighbors, and we agreed to submit a collective appeal. In the end, we collected 65 signatures. Many didn't believe in this idea, but the application was approved! Now there is communication in many homes, and this has noticeably changed our usual life. It's nice to see that modern technologies are coming to small villages as well."

      The service package "Technologies of Benefits" is popular among new subscribers, starting at 550 rubles per month, which includes internet speeds from 100 to 700 Mbps, interactive television, the online cinema Wink, and mobile communication with 40 GB of traffic, 1,000 minutes for calls, 500 SMS, and up to five SIM cards.
