"Rostelecom" has opened a new season of the "Olympics of Hopes" in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On June 25, 2026, at 12:12, the company "Rostelecom" launched the fourth season of the "Spartakiad of Hopes" in the Nizhny Novgorod region for children from large families and families of participants in the special military operation. The first competitions took place on June 24 at the "Oka" sports and health complex in Dzerzhinsk. More than 60 schoolchildren aged 9 to 13 participated in the sports festival.

      Nine teams competed for victory. Participants underwent tests according to the GTO standards. The kids competed in long jumps from a standing position, torso lifts from a lying position on their backs, push-ups, and a relay race. The result depended not only on personal preparation but also on the ability to work together.

      After the sports program, participants met with professional athletes. Boys attended a master class conducted by players from the "Khimik" rugby club in Dzerzhinsk, led by Sergey Dyakov, a participant in the Higher Rugby League and a representative of the Olympic discipline rugby-7. Girls participated in a master class by fitness trainer and candidate for master of sports in athletics Ekaterina Kolesova.

However, the harmonious development of a child is impossible without physical activity, sports, and live communication. The 'Spartakiad of Hopes' gives kids the opportunity to feel the joy of movement, teamwork, and personal achievements. We want children to understand how interesting it is to engage in physical culture, to be active, and to take care of their health. It is equally important for them to learn to make friends, support each other, and achieve their goals together."

      "Rostelecom" implements the "Spartakiad of Hopes" project with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Russian Children's Fund, and the "Defenders of the Fatherland" Fund.

      The season of the "Spartakiad of Hopes" will last until the end of the year. The next competitions will be held at the sports and health complexes in Nizhny Novgorod, Balakhna, Pavlovo, and Shakhunya. Expanding the geography of the project will allow even more kids to get involved in sports activities.
