The number of participants in the PDS in Russia has exceeded 12 million people.

      June 25, 2026 13:51 Economy The long-term savings program shows steady growth: according to the Bank of Russia, by mid-2026, the number of its participants exceeded 12 million people, and the total amount of attracted funds reached 938 billion rubles. For comparison: in March 2026, the figures were 10.3 million participants and 791.7 billion rubles. One of the key drivers of growth is the mechanism of state co-financing: with a contribution of 2,000 rubles per year, the state adds up to 36,000 rubles. An additional incentive is also the possibility of receiving a tax deduction and investment income. As noted by the General Director of VTB NPF Andrey Osipov, trust in the long-term savings program is growing: the average contribution size in the fund is now 86.7 thousand rubles — over the year, this figure has increased by 20%. The fund also records an increase in the number of clients receiving state support for the program: in the second half of 2026, about 1 million participants will receive co-financing — this is 60% more than a year earlier. The volume of state support for them will amount to 27 billion rubles, which is 73.5% higher than last year's level. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 300 thousand people have signed contracts with VTB NPF; the total number of fund clients forming long-term savings has exceeded 1.6 million, and the volume of funds in their accounts has reached 164 billion rubles. Experts also note that participants in the program are actively transferring their pension savings from the mandatory pension insurance system to their accounts — this is another significant factor in the growth of funds within the program. Let us remind you that participation in the program is available to Russian citizens aged 18 and older. An account can be opened in a non-state pension fund, and state guarantees apply to savings up to 2.8 million rubles. Savings are formed from the contributions of program participants, state co-financing, tax deductions, and investment income from the pension fund.
