The Industrial Robotics Development Center has opened in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 23, a ceremonial opening of the Nizhny Novgorod Center for the Development of Industrial Robotics took place at the NGTU named after R.E. Alekseev. This was reported by the press service of the regional government. According to Governor Gleb Nikitin, the center will showcase both global and domestic robotic solutions aimed at Russian manufacturers. Specialists from NGTU and the center will visit enterprises to identify areas where the implementation of robotic cells can increase labor productivity.

      Undoubtedly, this will bring economic benefits, so we are confident that the technological consulting and auditing services provided by the Robotics Center will be in demand by the industry. Colleagues have already outlined a plan — up to 15 factories will undergo such audits annually, the regional head stated.

      The audit of production processes and the selection of solutions to enhance the efficiency of enterprises will be organized jointly with experts from the Regional Competence Center with the support of the regional Ministry of Industry. As noted by Deputy Governor Yegor Polyakov, laboratories with domestic collaborative robots, laser cutting machines, and automated storage systems have been deployed at the center. Special attention is given to logistics robots, which are planned to be used for developing solutions for automating warehouse and transportation operations.

      Last year, NGTU named after R.E. Alekseev won a competitive selection for the creation of a center for the development of industrial robotics and received grant support of 295 million rubles. The preparation of the application was carried out with the participation of the Ministry of Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center, which facilitated the interaction between the university and industrial customers.

      GAZ acted as the general partner of the project, co-financing the implementation of the center's activities. A key area of cooperation will be the automation of production and logistics processes using domestic robotic complexes.
