Two people died as a result of a nighttime drone attack in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On June 24, 2026, at 09:20, incidents occurred as air defense forces repelled a drone attack on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region, reported Governor Gleb Nikitin on his MAX channel.

      According to the regional head, 23 drones were destroyed overnight. Preliminary reports indicate that as a result of debris falling, one industrial facility, several cars, and residential houses were damaged.

      "It is very painful to report this, but two people have died, and two more are in the hospital," Gleb Nikitin stated.

      The governor expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, noting that the injured and their families will receive the necessary assistance.

      At the same time, no critical damage to industrial infrastructure has been recorded. Emergency services are working on-site to address the aftermath of the attack.

      "Air defense forces continue to protect the skies over the region—I sincerely thank everyone who is fighting for the safety of the Nizhny Novgorod region," Gleb Nikitin added.
