The section of the R-158 highway in the Nizhny Novgorod region will be repaired for 13.6 billion rubles.

      On June 22, 2026, at 18:12, the Federal State Institution "Federal Road Administration of the Volga-Vyatka Region of the Federal Road Agency" announced a procurement for the capital repair of a section of the federal highway R-158 Nizhny Novgorod - Arzamas - Saransk - Issa - Penza - Saratov.

      The section in question is from km 52+000 to km 77+200. The initial contract price is 13.6 billion rubles. Funding is provided from the federal budget.

      Applications for participation in the procurement can be submitted until July 9, 2026. The results of the contractor selection are planned to be summarized on July 14.

      The execution of the contract is to begin on July 27, 2026, but not earlier than the date of its conclusion. The completion of the work is scheduled for October 15, 2028.

      Funding is distributed over three years: in 2026, 2.19 billion rubles will be allocated, in 2027 - 5.92 billion rubles, and in 2028 - 5.49 billion rubles.

      The documentation provides for warranty obligations. In particular, the warranty for the upper and lower layers of the pavement, the earthworks, and the foundation of the road surface will be six years. For road signs - ten years, for barrier fences - five years, for traffic lights, outdoor lighting, the "Platon" system, bus shelters, and a number of other elements - four years. The warranty for horizontal marking with thermoplastic is set for one year.

      Additionally, capital repairs with expansion to four lanes of another section of the R-158 highway - from the 40th to the 46th kilometer in the Dalenekonstantinovsky district - are ongoing in the region. As of the end of May, the work there is over 70% completed. The contract was signed at the end of 2025 with OAO "Kazdorstroy" from Tatarstan.

      Initially, the contractor for this project was the Tver company LLC "DSK," but the deadlines for completion were repeatedly postponed. In May of last year, the company left the site, after which the contract was terminated.

      Also, in 2025, the reconstruction of a 23-kilometer section of the R-158 highway in the Arzamas district - from the 77th to the 104th kilometer - was completed.
