Another 4.9 billion rubles of budget loans were written off in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      June 22, 2026 17:56 Economy The Government of the Russian Federation has decided to write off part of the debt of the Nizhny Novgorod region on budget loans to the federal budget. This was reported in his Max channel by Deputy Governor Yegor Polyakov. According to him, this is the second part of the funds planned for write-off in 2026. He noted that the amount of 4.9 billion rubles corresponds to the volume of actual expenses of the region in 2025.

      "The allocated funds were directed to solving key social and infrastructure tasks," added the deputy governor.

      These include the modernization of housing and communal services facilities, the replacement of elevators in apartment buildings, the resettlement of citizens from emergency housing, the renewal of public transport, as well as the implementation of investment projects. Earlier, the region had already written off 20.2 billion rubles of debt, of which 3.5 billion rubles were in 2025 and 16.7 billion rubles in May 2026. In total, according to Polyakov, the total amount of debt write-off for the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2024-2029 may reach 46.5 billion rubles.
