      June 23, 2026 15:49 Society The Russian government will allocate nearly 5 billion rubles to regions for providing pregnant women and children with diabetes with continuous glucose monitoring systems. The corresponding orders have been published on the government website. Part of this funding will go to the Nizhny Novgorod region. In total, the region will receive more than 99 million rubles. According to order No. 1468-r, in 2026, 14.5 million rubles are allocated to the Nizhny Novgorod region for providing pregnant women with diabetes with continuous glucose monitoring systems. An additional 67.8 million rubles will be directed towards purchasing such systems for children with type 1 diabetes aged 2 to 17 years inclusive. By order No. 1469-r, the region has been allocated 17 million rubles for co-financing expenses for providing pregnant women with such devices. Prescriptions for their acquisition are issued by endocrinologists. As noted by the government, the funds are allocated as part of the federal project "Fighting Diabetes," which is included in the national project "Long and Active Life." Thanks to the funding in the second half of 2026 and the first half of 2027, needy patients will be able to receive glucose monitoring systems for free by prescription from an endocrinologist.
