Another group of volunteers has departed for the special military operation from Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 23, 2026, 15:33 Society Another group of volunteers who signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to serve in unmanned systems troops has been formed and sent for training from Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the military commissariat of the region. Every day, volunteers from different regions of the country arrive in the Nizhny Novgorod region to sign contracts and become part of UAV units. After the paperwork is completed, the recruits undergo mandatory training at specialized centers, where they learn to operate drones and acquire other relevant skills. One of the volunteers is a native of Kaliningrad with the call sign "Hawk." Before signing the contract, he worked in the catering industry; however, according to him, he has been interested in military service since his teenage years, participating in gatherings and tactical exercises, including field training and tactical medicine classes.

      Through a special application, he learned to properly operate drones and strike from various distances. The main talisman for me has been my family's faith in my strength and abilities. Victory will be ours because we work cohesively. And together we are moving towards a common goal - for people to live peacefully and for our loved ones to have a peaceful sky above their heads, noted "Hawk."

      Another volunteer is a resident of Omsk with the call sign "Choreographer." Before signing the contract, he led a creative team. In his opinion, professionalism is achieved through perseverance in training, and even newcomers in the Armed Forces can become qualified specialists, including in the field of unmanned aviation. Selection is being conducted for positions as UAV operators, engineers, technicians, and a number of other specialties. A feature of the contract with unmanned systems units is its duration - one year.

      As of June 15, 2026, the amount of the one-time payment upon signing a contract in Nizhny Novgorod has been increased to 3.2 million rubles. The monthly salary ranges from 210,000 rubles. Additional payments for combat merits are provided for military personnel in UAV units, including for the destruction of enemy weapons and equipment - up to 500,000 rubles. Contractors are also provided with certificates for obtaining land plots in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Let us remind you that a mechanism for military social contracts is in place in the region, providing for a monthly payment of 10,000 rubles for each child, benefits for housing and communal services and kindergartens, as well as individual support for military families. The dispatch of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to their place of service is coordinated by a support center based at the House of National Unity. The region also continues to send humanitarian aid to the SVO zone.
