More than 180 families from Nizhny Novgorod took in foster children in 2026.
On June 23, 2026, at 13:55, Society: 182 families have become foster parents in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of 2026. The press service of the regional branch of the Social Fund reported on the payments due to them.
Adoptive parents, guardians, custodians, or foster parents can receive benefits when a child is placed in their care. The one-time payment for a child under the age of eight in the Nizhny Novgorod region is about 28,500 rubles. In the case of accepting several children into the family at once, it is issued for each child.
When adopting a child with a disability, children over eight years old, or siblings, a payment of 217,300 rubles is provided.
The benefit can be arranged by submitting an application to the client service or MFC with a copy of the court decision on the child's adoption. The remaining documents will be requested by the Social Fund employees independently. The application can also be sent using "Gosuslugi" or by mail; however, in the latter case, a notarized copy of the court decision on adoption is required.
Documents must be submitted within six months from the date the court decision on adoption comes into effect or from the date the guardianship and custody authority issues a decision on establishing guardianship or custody, or from the date of signing the agreement on accepting the child into the family. The decision on the appointment of the payment is made within five working days.
