New features for Nizhny Novgorod applicants have appeared on "Gosuslugi".

On June 22, 2026, at 13:06, Society: The "Gosuslugi" portal has updated the "life situation" service for applicants. New features have been added in time for the start of the 2026 admissions campaign, reported the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. Starting in 2026, this service has become the primary electronic method for submitting documents to Russian universities.

“‘Life situations’ help people solve issues comprehensively and quickly. Entering a university is one of the most responsible steps in a person's life. The service for applicants on Gosuslugi helps make this process convenient, transparent, and understandable, so that everyone can focus on the main thing – their future education. We see the demand for the service: since its launch in 2024, over 13 million people have already used it,” noted Dmitry Grigorenko.

In 2026, the "University Admission" service received three new functions. The first of these is the ability to search by individual number in the competition lists. This is especially important for those who submit documents to several educational institutions at once. Now, one can quickly check their position by number without scrolling through long lists by surname. This format also ensures confidentiality, as personal data is not displayed publicly.

The second new feature concerns individual achievements. The system automatically displays information about participation in Olympiads, possession of the GTO badge, volunteer activities, and other achievements when submitting an application. The applicant can also see which universities and programs these results provide additional points for and increase the chances of admission.

The third innovation is related to the targeted quota. The "Gosuslugi" portal now displays information about the number of submitted applications and available places. This allows applicants to assess the level of competition without contacting admission offices. If there are more candidates than places available, the applicant can quickly submit documents to other universities or choose a different program.

The "life situation" service for university admission allows for the selection of studies in more than 1800 universities and across 1100 specialties. Through the portal, one can submit applications for bachelor's, specialist, master's, and doctoral programs.

Work on creating new services is being carried out within the framework of the federal project "State for People." The development of public services through the "Gosuslugi" portal is also part of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State," which has been implemented since 2025.
