270 km of roads to medical institutions will be updated in the Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the national project.

      On June 22, 2026, at 11:38 AM, Economy In 2026, approximately 270 km of roads leading to medical institutions will be repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The work will be carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life," reported the Main Department of Roads of the region. It is expected that the upgrade of the routes will make trips to hospitals, clinics, outpatient clinics, and midwifery stations more comfortable and safer for thousands of residents and ambulance crews. The program includes 46 sections located in 24 municipal districts and areas. In particular, the repairs will affect routes to district hospitals in Bogorodsk, Gagino, Kovernino, Sosnovsky, and Shakhunya. Work will also be conducted on the roads to the Sukhobezvodnenskaya district hospital and the anti-tuberculosis dispensary in the Semyonovsky district, the Vilskaya hospital of the Vyksa Central District Hospital, and the hospital in the village of Oktyabrsky in the Borsky district, to the Sokolskiy Central District Hospital clinic, as well as to the Blizhneborisovskaya, Novolikeevskaya, and Prokoshevskaya outpatient clinics in the Kstovo district. In addition, access roads to the Andreevsky FAP in Chkalovsk and to the Surovatikhinskaya district hospital in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district will be updated. All sections will include road surface replacement, strengthening of the shoulders, installation of new signs, and marking. During the repairs, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced, while the passage of special vehicles—ambulances and fire trucks—will be ensured as a priority. As noted by the acting director of the State Budgetary Institution of Nizhny Novgorod "GUAD," Alexander Denisov, the repair of such roads is directly related to the care for the health and safety of residents. According to him, 46 sections were purposefully included in the plan so that residents of remote settlements could reach medical institutions faster and more conveniently. "We pay special attention to deadlines: by the end of September, all facilities will be completed, and access to medical assistance will become more reliable," emphasized Alexander Denisov. Since 2019, within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (until 2025—"Safe and Quality Roads"), more than 6,600 km of roads have been repaired in the region, and about 140 km of regional highways have been built and reconstructed. Only in 2025, 761 km of the road network was brought to regulatory condition against a plan of 626 km.
