A conscript from the Nizhny Novgorod region was helped to terminate an illegal contract.

June 20, 2026 15:31 Society The Commissioner for Human Rights in the region, Oksana Kislytsina, helped a young man from Nizhny Novgorod to annul a contract that was signed with violations. The ombudsman was approached by the adoptive parents of the conscript. According to them, during their son's service, he was sent to a neighboring region for training in working with UAVs. There, along with other servicemen, he signed documents that, as he was explained, were required for enrollment in the courses. However, after returning to his unit, a large sum of money was deposited into his bank account, and the serviceman was transferred to another unit. It was there that he was informed that he had allegedly signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. At the same time, he was not familiarized with the contents of the document, and a copy of the contract was not provided to him. Concerned about what had happened, the parents immediately contacted the command of the military unit. They acknowledged that there were violations in the contract's execution and promised to annul the document. However, after several weeks, the situation had still not been resolved. After that, the family turned to the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod region. From there, a request was promptly sent to the military prosecutor's office. As a result, the order for the serviceman's appointment was canceled as unrealized. The young man continued to serve his conscription under the previous conditions. "This situation is a vivid example of how important it is not to remain silent when faced with injustice. And how necessary adult support is for children, even when they become adults. Thank you to these parents for their principled stance and persistence. Together we will wait for the serviceman's return home," said the MAX channel of the Nizhny Novgorod ombudsman Oksana Kislytsina. It was previously reported that 52 military personnel and civilians were helped to return to the Nizhny Novgorod region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
