      The architectural and artistic lighting featuring patterns of folk crafts will be turned on at the Nizhny Novgorod TV tower on June 21. This was reported by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of RTRS. The thematic illumination will operate from 21:30 to 22:00. The lighting design of the tallest structure in the city will use recognizable patterns of Balakhna lace, Cossack filigree, Chkalov lace, Gorodets and Khokhloma painting. A scrolling text displaying the festive date will appear on the media facade. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the regional Ministry of Tourism and Crafts. The Day of Folk Crafts was established by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation in 2022 and is celebrated annually on the penultimate Sunday of June. The Nizhny Novgorod region initiated the establishment of the date at the federal level, where workers in the folk crafts industry have been celebrating their professional holiday since 2013.
