Meteorologists forecast up to 35 mm of precipitation in Nizhny Novgorod over three days.

      June 20, 2026 11:49 Society Almost half of the monthly norm of precipitation may fall in Nizhny Novgorod next week, according to weather resource forecasts. The rainiest days, according to preliminary data, will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. During this period, the city may receive up to 35 mm of precipitation with a June norm of 73 mm. This week, the rainiest day was Thursday, when about 10 mm of precipitation fell in Nizhny Novgorod. The city transport department reported that nearly 4,000 cubic meters of water were pumped from the streets of the city over the past week. The agency noted that specialists are closely monitoring the weather forecast. Before the rains begin, standby water pumping equipment and road workers will be organized in areas prone to traditional flooding to promptly pump out water and clear stormwater drains. Additionally, during the period of precipitation, drainage channels and ditches are under special control, with their condition regularly checked. The department added that during a sudden heavy downpour, localized water accumulation may occur; however, it quickly drains into the storm sewer or is pumped out using special equipment.
