The Bank of Russia has lowered the key rate for the ninth time to 14.25% per annum.
June 19, 2026 13:44 Economy The Bank of Russia reduced the key rate by 0.25 percentage points to 14.25% per annum on June 19, 2026. The corresponding decision was made by the Board of Directors of the regulator. The Central Bank noted that after a brief decline at the beginning of the year, the economy continues to grow at a moderate pace. Steady price growth has slightly slowed down, but is still estimated in the range of 4-5% on an annual basis. The Bank of Russia stated that at the upcoming meetings, they will assess the need for further rate cuts. Decisions will be made taking into account the sustainability of inflation slowdown, dynamics of inflation expectations, as well as risks from internal and external conditions. According to the Central Bank's forecast, given the current monetary policy, annual inflation will decrease to 4.5-5.5% in 2026. In the second half of 2026, stable inflation will form around 4%. In 2027 and beyond, the indicator will remain at the target level. The current decision marks the ninth consecutive reduction of the key rate. Since June 2025, the key rate has been reduced from a total of 21%. At that time, for the first time in almost three years, the rate was lowered from a record 21% to 20% per annum.
