Three flights were delayed and two were canceled at the Nizhny Novgorod airport on June 18.

      June 18, 2026 09:20 Society Temporary restrictions on the acceptance and departure of aircraft have been in effect since night at Nizhny Novgorod Airport named after V.P. Chkalov. The measures were introduced at 02:25 on June 18 to ensure flight safety, reported Rosaviation. A drone danger regime has also been established in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the press service of the air harbor, currently three flights from the airport's regular schedule have been delayed in Nizhny Novgorod, and two more flights have been canceled. Before the airspace around the city was closed, "Chkalov" received 13 flights heading to Moscow, serving as the main alternate airport for the capital's aviation hub. Passengers, at the crews' decision, are awaiting further information either on board the aircraft or in the terminal building. All airport services have been switched to an enhanced operational mode. Representatives of airlines and airport staff are working with passengers on delayed and arriving flights. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights in advance on the airlines' and airport's websites, as well as to pay attention to announcements over the loudspeakers and information on the display boards.
