The concentration of toxic gas in the air of Nizhny Novgorod has exceeded the norm.

      On June 18, 2026, 10:09 Incidents The exceedance of the maximum allowable concentration of formaldehyde in the air has been recorded in Nizhny Novgorod. This follows from the monitoring data of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Center" for the period from June 11 to 15. Formaldehyde is a highly toxic gas with a sharp unpleasant odor and belongs to the second hazard class. Its concentration in the air in the Prioksky district exceeded the established norm by 1.8 times. In the industrial zone of the Kstovo district, the indicator was above the permissible value by 1.3 times. Data on air quality in other districts of the city are not provided. Additionally, changes have been recorded in Dzerzhinsk. In the western part of the city, the concentration of formaldehyde exceeded the norm by two times, in the northern part by 2.1 times, and in the eastern part by 1.3 times.
