Free examinations for couples have been launched in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 18, 2026, at 10:37 AM, Society The program for free examinations for couples planning pregnancy has started in Nizhny Novgorod. Comprehensive diagnostics can be done at the regional consulting and diagnostic center (KDC). This was reported by a representative of the healthcare sector in the region, Alexey Nikонов, on social media.

      Two main studies are available, aimed at assessing reproductive health and minimizing genetic risks. Women can take a test for anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) - one of the main indicators of reproductive health. Also, karyotyping is provided for couples - a genetic study that allows the identification of possible chromosomal disorders.

      A referral from a treating physician for the examination is not required. A mandatory condition is the presence of permanent or temporary registration in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Diagnostics begin with a gynecologist's appointment, which can be scheduled through the Patient Portal. After the examination, the specialist will prescribe the AMH test if necessary. No prior appointment is required for the geneticist for karyotyping - consultations are held from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 12:30.

      The results of the studies will be available in the personal account on the "Gosuslugi" portal within 10-14 days.
