      On June 17, 2026, at 16:29 Society A new "waffle" marking has appeared in the central part of Nizhny Novgorod. The Telegram channel "Bread and Spectacles in NN" drew attention to this. The marking was applied at the intersection of Ilyinskaya and Malaya Pokrovskaya streets, near the Marriage Registration House. The yellow grid with diagonal lines warns drivers about the prohibition of parking in this area for more than five seconds if the vehicle creates an obstacle for movement in the transverse direction. Exceptions are made for turns to the right or left. The "waffle" marking serves to prevent traffic jams at intersections. When the traffic light is red, entering this area may result in a fine of one thousand rubles. Violations are detected by video surveillance cameras. Similar markings are also present at Minin Square, Gagarin Avenue, and at the intersection of Kovalikhinskaya and Semashko streets.
