The Nizhny Novgorod government and the Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia will cooperate.
The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia (GPNTB of Russia) have signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the regional government, Ekaterina Solntseva, and the library director, Natalia Mikhalchenkova.
As part of the agreement, the parties will implement joint scientific, library, methodological, publishing, and educational projects, organize conferences, seminars, round tables, presentations, book exhibitions, and other events aimed at popularizing science and scientific-technical literature.
The signing of the agreement took place at the X International Professional Forum "Book. Science. Culture. Education. Innovations." The event was held at the Sirius University venue. The goal of the forum is to thoroughly examine the tasks set by the federal project for the modernization of scientific and technical libraries (NTB).
The main focus was on the process of creating a unified registry of NTBs and centers of the National Technological Initiative (NTI), which serve as the foundation of the modern infrastructure to support scientific activity, education, and ensure technological sovereignty.
"During the anniversary forum, there was a synthesis of successful developments from previous years with the priorities of the Decade of Science and Technology and a new federal project aimed at the development of scientific and technical libraries. A key theme was the rethinking of the mission of libraries, which are transforming from traditional book repositories into digital hubs. I am confident that cooperation with the Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia will be a guarantee for exchanging invaluable experience and modern practices in the field of librarianship and innovative technologies," noted Ekaterina Solntseva.
The forum was attended by leading experts and leaders from the library, publishing, museum, and archival sectors, as well as representatives from the IT sector, higher educational institutions, and research institutes.
The organizers of the forum were the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia, the educational foundation "Talent and Success," and the Sirius University.
