More than 100 records in the GTO all-around have been set in Nizhny Novgorod.
Last weekend, a sports event for the GTO multi-sport competition "I'm Going for a Record!" took place at the site next to the "Meshchersky" Sports Complex. The event was held with the support of the state program "Sport of Russia."
The competition program included the following exercises: burpees, roll-ups, torso lifts from a lying position on the back, standing long jumps, push-ups from the floor, and kettlebell shoulder presses.
As a result of the competitions, participants set 103 records, including 23 Russian records and 80 records for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
"At the festival, athletes could try themselves in any of the proposed exercises or several at once. Overall, the GTO multi-sport is a new direction that differs from the usual standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex. The athlete's task is to overcome the distance while sequentially performing the exercises. It is very similar to passing an obstacle course. Importantly, anyone can participate in such competitions. Congratulations to everyone who broke all-Russian, regional, and personal records at the event! Well done, keep it up!" said Dmitry Kabailo, the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Participants who set records during the event are now invited to register their results on the website www.gto.com.ru.
The event was organized by the GTO multi-sport federation of Russia, the GTO functional multi-sport federation of the Nizhny Novgorod region, with the support of the regional Ministry of Sports.
Let us remind you that starting in 2025, a state program "Sport of Russia" has been implemented in Russia by the order of President Vladimir Putin, aimed at creating and improving conditions for physical activity, popularizing mass sports, and enhancing the quality of life for Russians. The program's tasks include expanding sports infrastructure, conducting mass sports events, and encouraging residents to participate in meeting the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense." Children's sports are also being developed in the country, creating new opportunities for veterans of the SVO and their resocialization through sports activities.
