      June 13, 2026 17:50 Society In Clinical Hospital No. 4 of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia, trauma surgeons successfully performed an operation, restoring the ability of a 43-year-old patient to move independently. Previously, he had suffered a severe workplace injury, clinical death, and had been unable to walk normally for over a year. As reported by the medical institution, the accident occurred in December 2024: a huge metal structure fell on the man. As a result of a femoral fracture with displaced fragments and damage to the bone tissue, his condition was extremely severe. After first aid was provided and his condition stabilized, the patient was transferred to one of the clinics in the region, where a rod apparatus was installed, but the treatment proved complicated. Soon after the patient began to stand on his leg, a repeated fracture occurred. By the time he was admitted to Hospital No. 4, the man had an unhealed fracture, a 5 cm shortening of the leg, and loss of mobility in the knee joint. For more than a year, he was limited in movement and could not fully bear weight on the injured leg. In February 2026, a group of specialists performed a minimally invasive operation. Through three small incisions on the skin and soft tissues, they installed a special rod that reliably fixed the fracture. This method minimized tissue damage and stabilized the femur. Specialists emphasize that for patients with such injuries, it is important not only to restore the bone but also to return them to a full life.
