      About 1,500 people participated in the fifth regional festival of higher and secondary vocational education "Study in Nizhny." The event took place on Russia Day in the 1st of May Park. The organizers were the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the region, and the Nizhny Novgorod House of Scientists. The goal of the festival is to present the opportunities of universities, technical schools, and colleges to future applicants. Representatives from more than 30 educational institutions in the region participated in the festival. They provided information about the admissions campaign, educational programs, in-demand specialties, features of education, and scientific potential. The Deputy Chair of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Ekaterina Solntseva, noted that the format of the event allowed for informal interaction with the admissions committees of the region's universities and helped attendees decide on their choice of specialty. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Viktor Anisimov, emphasized that the festival became a platform for dialogue between educational organizations and applicants, where they could receive information about the admissions campaign and the scientific and educational projects being implemented. The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mikhail Puchkov, reported that the region provides graduates of the 9th and 11th grades with broad opportunities for professional growth and the preparation of in-demand specialists. Sixteen universities and eleven secondary vocational education institutions from the Nizhny Novgorod Region operated at the festival site. Visitors could also receive consultations from specialists at the Career Center of KUPNO and the "Work of Russia" personnel center, as well as participate in workshops and lectures. The "Study in Nizhny" festival has been held since 2022. The period from 2022 to 2031 has been declared by President Vladimir Putin as the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. Its objectives are to attract youth to the field of research and development, engage scientists in solving key development tasks of the country, and raise awareness of the achievements of domestic science.
