      On June 12, on Russia Day, a ceremony was held to award reservists of the mobilization reserve "BARS-NN" who distinguished themselves during combat duty in the Nizhny Novgorod region. For successfully carrying out tasks to protect the region, including repelling attacks by enemy UAVs on critically important facilities, territorial defenders were presented with letters of gratitude from the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region and commemorative gifts. The reservists were congratulated and thanked for their service by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Tuzhilin, and the commander of the "BARS-NN" unit with the call sign "Lawyer". "On Russia Day - the main state holiday - we awarded the fighters of our 'BARS-NN' unit for their displayed heroism and selflessness in carrying out combat tasks. Most of the guys are on duty around the clock, hitting targets and countering the enemy. There is no doubt that the residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region are under the protection of true patriots. Our regional unit 'BARS-NN' stands on the front lines, which we value very highly," emphasized Vladimir Tuzhilin.

      The solemn ceremony took place in field conditions. Awards to the distinguished reservists were presented at combat positions during their duty. "For me, this award signifies that the work of the mobilization reserve servicemen, who are ready to assist our region and protect important facilities, is recognized and appreciated. It is doubly pleasant to receive a letter of gratitude from the head of the region on Russia Day," said the commander of the mobile fire group with the call sign "Volcano". According to the reservists, they attribute the high evaluation of their work and attention from representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod region's authorities primarily to their successful repulsion of aerial attacks by drones. "I participated in repelling two UAVs flying towards our enterprise. Thanks to the vigilance and sharpness of our fighters, we determined the direction and shot down the drones; the enemy had no chance. We coped with the assigned tasks. I consider this award well-deserved. We will continue to strive to fulfill our tasks 100 percent," shared the machine gunner of the mobile fire group "BARS-NN" with the call sign "Ataman".

      Let us remind you that service in the "BARS-NN" reserve does not involve deployment to the special military operation zone and takes place only in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Recruitment into the reserve is conducted on a voluntary basis through military enlistment offices of municipal formations by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia through the commander of the military unit. A feature of the contract is the possibility to combine primary civilian work with military training and drills. Throughout the contract period, reservists are provided with monetary compensation, modern equipment, and uniforms. During military drills, participants retain their job and salary, and they are provided with life and health insurance, medical assistance, and free meals. Additionally, by the decree of Governor Gleb Nikitin, additional support measures have been established for Nizhny Novgorod residents in the mobilization reserve "BARS-NN" and their family members. For children - free kindergarten, school meals, sports sections and extended day groups, subsidized vouchers to camps and sanatoriums in the Nizhny Novgorod region. There is a priority right for transferring a child to a school near their home. The entire family of the reservist is guaranteed priority free medical assistance under the State Guarantee Program for providing medical care to the population of the Nizhny Novgorod region for the current year.
