A hundred-meter tricolor, dances, and a parade: how Russia Day was celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod

      June 12, 2026 17:25 Culture and Leisure Russia Day was celebrated with great fanfare in Nizhny Novgorod at several city venues. Festive events (0+) took place in the 1st of May Park, "Switzerland" Park, and at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, which this year became the main venue for the celebrations in the region.

      The central event at the Fair was the multi-format ethnofestival "Action" (0+). A rich program was prepared for visitors: master classes on track mixing by Nizhny Novgorod DJs, musical performances, as well as a gastro festival featuring dishes from national cuisine.

      Guests of the celebration also witnessed competitions by students of the dance school, attended classes on Khokhloma and Gorodets painting, theatrical performances, and a graffiti action involving artists from various regions of Russia. Additionally, an automobile exhibition "90th Anniversary of the State Traffic Inspectorate" was held at the venue.

      The culmination of the celebration was a parade of nationalities and a circle of unity. A large-scale patriotic action took place at the Fair: more than 2,000 people - volunteers, artists, representatives of youth and public organizations, as well as participants of the special military operation - unfurled a 100-meter tricolor, one of the main state symbols of Russia.

      The festive program will conclude in the evening with a performance by the band "Rock Islands" (0+).
