20 Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren were solemnly presented with passports on Russia Day.
On June 12, 2026, at 16:40 Society, on Russia Day, at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, the first deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Gneushev, and the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region on issues of citizenship and registration of foreign citizens, Police Colonel Andrey Knaus, presented passports of the Russian Federation to 20 schoolchildren from Nizhny Novgorod.
The solemn event took place as part of the All-Russian program "We are citizens of Russia!" of the All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First." The passports were received by young residents of Nizhny Novgorod, Chkalovsk, Shakhunya, Volodarsky, Varnavinsky, and Krasnobakovsky districts.
"Congratulations to everyone on Russia Day! Today, each of us feels a special pride in being part of a great country. We love our homeland, cherish its glorious traditions, and admire its rich cultural heritage. The present and the future depend on the contribution of each of us, especially the youth. And today, young Nizhny Novgorod residents are receiving their first passports. I believe that this moment will remain in your memory for a lifetime. You are all active and talented, and right now in our country and in our region, there are many opportunities to develop further and express yourselves. And I have no doubt that you will be part of the future achievements and victories of our homeland. It is your turn to write the history of Russia. Happy holiday, and welcome to adult life!" said Andrey Gneushev.
On the main stage of the Russia Day celebration, passports were presented to Nizhny Novgorod residents who have excelled in various fields. These include academic achievers, athletes, young journalists, volunteers of various movements, and prizewinners and winners of All-Russian Olympiads and competitions.
"Today you have become full-fledged citizens of a great country. Boldly conquer new heights, set records, and achieve your goals. I believe that each of you will be a worthy Russian, a reliable support of the present, and a creator of Russia's future," congratulated the children on receiving the main document of a citizen of Russia, Andrey Knaus.
During the solemn ceremony, schoolchildren were also presented with brochures containing the text of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and commemorative gifts.
As part of the Russia Day celebrations in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 18 solemn passport presentation ceremonies took place with the participation of more than 200 people.
In total, over the past 4 years, with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government, the regional branch of the "Movement of the First," and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, more than 10,000 schoolchildren have received their first passport in a solemn setting.
