Work on the overpass at the Myzinskii Bridge has reached the final stage.

      According to the mayor, the major repair of the overpass is being carried out for the first time in 45 years since its construction. The work on the overpass near the Myzinsky Bridge has reached the final stage. This was reported by the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, on his social media, referencing the contracting organization conducting the major repair of the facility. According to the mayor, the major repair of the overpass is being carried out for the first time in 45 years since its construction. "This is the second overpass we are working on as part of the national project 'Infrastructure for Life'; in 2024, we completed the major repair of the overpass at the 4th km of the Moscow Highway ahead of schedule. Now the most serious section of work has been completed. We have replaced and installed 12 reinforced concrete beams of the first and fourth span structures — these are key load-bearing elements that bear all the loads. The workers are preparing to start the leveling layer, waterproofing, and protective coating, and then they will lay the asphalt. There will also be new lighting on the overpass," said Yuri Shalabaev, adding that the overall readiness of the facility currently stands at 80%, with a slight ahead-of-schedule progress. The contractor plans to complete all scheduled work ahead of the established deadline. As reported by the MKU "Main Directorate for the Construction and Repair of Subways, Bridges, and Road Networks," the road workers have already conducted work on the demolition of the asphalt concrete and leveling coating of the bridge deck as part of the third stage, which is currently underway, and have dismantled and installed new lighting supports, repaired and restored all 48 formwork supports. "To install the new 12 beams of the span structures, we used a crane with a lifting capacity of 70 tons. We carried out this work as quickly as possible at night over the past weekend. Thus, the main work can now be considered completed. Next, we will restore the road surface and install the lighting," said the site manager, Vladislav Ligus. It is worth noting that the road workers began the active phase of the repair of the third and final stage in February 2026. The work started in January 2025 as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." For the convenience of Nizhny Novgorod residents, the major repair was divided into stages to maintain traffic on the overpass: according to the project documentation, the work is being carried out in three stages with the sequential closure of two lanes for vehicle traffic. Currently, the work on the two stages has been fully completed. All work, according to the municipal contract, must be completed by December 2026. The repair of roads in Nizhny Novgorod is being carried out as part of the new national project "Infrastructure for Life," which was initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, with the aim of providing citizens with modern infrastructure. The project consists of 11 federal projects, which are a continuation of previously existing national projects "Safe Quality Roads," "Housing and Urban Environment," and state programs of the Russian Federation. They are aimed, among other things, at the development of road construction, housing and communal services, ensuring road safety, and developing public passenger transport.
