The RZD division refunded the residents of Shakhunya nearly half a million for cold "hot" water.

      On June 10, 2026, 10:44 Society Residents of apartment buildings in Shakhunya had their utility fees recalculated by almost half a million rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office. After citizens' complaints, it was established that the Gorky Directorate for Heat and Water Supply - a structural division of JSC "Russian Railways" - operates a boiler house that provides heating and hot water to railway infrastructure facilities, as well as several apartment buildings in Shakhunya. However, the temperature of the hot water in the latter did not meet the standards - it was lower by 17-25 degrees. Following the inspection, the transport prosecutor submitted a proposal to the head of the directorate. In addition, an administrative offense case was initiated against the official under part 2 of Article 7.23 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the normative level of provision of public utilities to the population). Local residents were reimbursed for utility fees amounting to nearly 500 thousand rubles.
