Students of the Presidential Academy participated in a tourist rally in the Moscow region.
On June 10, 2026, at 10:10 AM, Society. For the first time in the history of the Presidential Academy in the city of Yakhroma, Moscow region, a tourist rally "Double Ascent" took place, uniting students from different branches of RANEPA. The Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management was represented by: Alexandra Mitina, Valeria Kovaleva, Vladislav Khebnev, Diana Vikhareva, Ksenia Rudakova, Matvey Skorikov, Maxim Kazantsev, Ilya Sazankin.
To participate in the rally, students from the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management underwent special training and took part in the competitions of the project "Student Tourism Development Program 'Compass'," which is implemented with the support of Rosmolodyozh Grants.
During the training, students mastered skills in map navigation, tying tourist knots quickly and efficiently, providing first aid to the injured, working with tourist equipment, packing backpacks, and setting up campfires. During the competitions, they were able to test their abilities in navigation, terrain orientation, and teamwork.
"Within the framework of the competitions, participants demonstrated not only physical fitness but also the ability to make quick decisions in non-standard conditions, work as a team, and apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The main goal of such events is to prepare for a real hike, where every skill becomes vital," explained the director of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management of the Presidential Academy, Ekaterina Lebedeva.
At the rally in the Moscow region, students went through an obstacle course with climbing equipment (zipline, ascents, steep descents), built campfires, set up tents, tied knots, determined azimuths, provided first aid, camped in tents, and sang songs by the fire.
"The rally provided incredible impressions. For the first time, I went through an obstacle course with climbing equipment. In the competitions, the very team cohesion was born that made the adventure brighter. In these challenges, there is a certain thrill, as if you are discovering a wild, forgotten side of life in the city. But it was not only the adrenaline that stood out, but also moments of quiet serenity. A separate joy was the live communication with guys from other universities," shared NII student Vladislav Khebnev.
In the near future, students from the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management are looking forward to a large multi-day hiking trip as part of the "Compass" student tourism development program. The hike will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management of the Presidential Academy. Its motto: "A path 80 years long."
