The meeting between the Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the region, Olga Guseva, and the delegation from the city of Da Nang, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee, Le Quang Nam, took place with the participation of a representative from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Igor Bayazov. According to Olga Guseva, Vietnam remains one of the important international partners of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Over the past 13 years, trade turnover between the parties has increased tenfold, and Vietnam has significantly strengthened its position among the region's trade and economic partners. The minister reported that the regional government has prepared a comprehensive cooperation plan with Da Nang, which includes about 40 events. They cover education and science, sports, culture, tourism, youth policy, information technology, and healthcare. The document has already been sent to the Vietnamese side for approval. Special attention was paid to educational cooperation during the meeting. Currently, about 100,000 students are studying at Nizhny Novgorod universities, including nearly 7,000 foreign citizens. Three cooperation agreements are in effect between Nizhny Novgorod and Vietnamese universities. In the current academic year, nine students from Vietnam are receiving education in the region. "We are ready to accept many more Vietnamese students, including from Da Nang," emphasized Olga Guseva. The Vietnamese delegation was also presented with projects for the development of the Nizhny Novgorod metro, the production of "MiNin" trams, hydrofoils "Valdai," cable transport possibilities, and the IT campus concept "Neimark." Le Quang Nam stated that Da Nang is interested in further developing cooperation and studying the experience of the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to him, particular interest lies in machine engineering, tram and minibus production, as well as the development of the IT sector. Igor Bayazov, head of the third department of Asia at the Russian Foreign Ministry, noted that direct ties between Russian and Vietnamese regions are an important part of the strategic partnership between the two countries and will receive further support.
