Doctors of the "Health Trains" have consulted more than 20,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents since the beginning of the year.

      June 9, 2026 18:21 Society More than 20,000 residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have undergone examinations and received consultations from the "Health Trains" since the beginning of 2026. Mobile medical teams from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko conducted over 31,000 consultations and performed more than 70,000 laboratory and instrumental examinations. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region most frequently required consultations from cardiologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, as well as otorhinolaryngologists and ophthalmologists. "As a result of the work of the mobile medical teams, 12,000 residents of the region needed further examinations, and more than 670 people were referred for hospitalization in central district hospitals," emphasized Acting Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko, Sergey Gamayunov. Among the newly identified diseases, circulatory system diseases, diabetes, respiratory organ diseases, and malignant neoplasms are predominant. The Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod region reminded that the specialists of the "Health Trains" assist outpatient medical staff in conducting preventive examinations and dispensarization. The health train modules are equipped with all necessary diagnostic equipment: 9 types of ultrasound, osteodensitometry, as well as fluorography and ECG. Preventive measures are the foundation for maintaining public health. The work of the "Health Trains" is aimed at the early diagnosis of dangerous diseases and the timely referral of Nizhny Novgorod residents for further examinations and specialized treatment. This aligns with the goals and objectives of the national project "Sustained and Active Life," initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
